Arriving at the Terminal
Welcome to the Hunter! By booking with Newcastle Car Rentals, you’ve chosen to skip the long queues and paperwork at the traditional airport rental desks. Your vehicle is located in the Long Stay Saver Car Park, a 24/7, well-lit car park designed for a seamless, contactless transition from the terminal to the road.
Step-by-Step Directions to Your Car
Finding your car is simple and takes approximately 4–6 minutes on foot from the arrivals hall:

Exit the Terminal: Once you’ve collected your luggage, exit through the main arrivals doors.

Follow the Pedestrian Path: Look for the signs pointing towards the Long Stay Saver Car Park.

Cross at the Marked Walkway: Follow the designated green pedestrian path. It is a flat, easy walk suitable for rolling luggage.

Locate the Parking Boom Gates: We park our fleet near the parking boom gates closes to the terminal. Your specific location and vehicle registration will be sent to you via SMS app 10 minutes before your scheduled pickup time.
How to Unlock & Start Your Trip
Once you arrive at the vehicle, the process is 100% digital:

Smartphone Unlock: Ensure you have mobile network on your mobile phone device. Click on the unlock link that you will receive 10 mins before your scheduled booking start time. Once you're in your vehicle unlock dashboard, simply click on 'Unlock'. Your keys will be kept in a safe location for you to pick-up (more information will be sent to you via SMS).

Vehicle Inspection: Take a moment to walk around the car. Use the app to upload a few quick photos (front, back, sides, interior, fuel level, and odometer). This protects you and ensures the car is in perfect condition for your trip.

Start your vehicle: Once you have completed the check-in procedures in the Turo app, simply use thy keys to start the vehicle, and you're on your way!

Airport Exit: We’ve simplified your departure. Simply pay for the parking using your own payment means, and send us the payment receipt and your banking/Pay ID details through the Turo app. We will reimburse you for this cost.
Returning the Vehicle
Returning your car is just as easy as picking it up:

Navigate to Newcastle Airport (NTL): Set your GPS to 'Newcastle Airport Long Stay Saver car park' or simply click here to be navigated to the drop off area within the Newcastle Airport Long Stay Saver car park.

Park in the Zone: Park the vehicle in any available bay within the same Long Stay Saver area where you collected it. Make sure you are parked in a legal spot, not blocking any roads, other vehicles or reserved parking zones.

End Your Trip: Ensure the windows are up, the fuel is at the required level, and you have all your personal belongings. Once you're ready to end your trip, simply complete any check-out procedures on the Turo app, and click on the lock link that will be sent to your mobile device by SMS, 5 hours before the scheduled end time of your trip. Once you have clicked on the lock link, simply click on the 'lock vehicle' button and you're all done!

Fuel Up Nearby: There are two fuel stations in very close proximity to the Newcastle Airport. Fill up here to avoid returning the vehicle back with low fuel.

Quick Snacks: There are various eating outlets located within the arrival and departure halls at Newcastle Airport. Additionally, both fuel stations near the airport would also sell snacks if you need a quick bite before heading into Newcastle or the Vineyards.

Drive Safe: Keep an eye out for local wildlife if you are driving toward the coast or the Hunter Valley at dusk!
